All Roads Lead to Cameroon!

CMM organized a US media delegation consisting of reporters from CNN, Black Enterprise, BET, Travel Weekly, The Atlantic, African Sun Times and Canadian Traveler to visit Cameroon, Africa's fastest growing tourist destination.

In conjunction with client Arik Air, and partners Africa Travel Association (ATA) who hosted their 38th Annual Africa Travel Summit in the country, CMM introduced and toured with the reporters around this beautiful West and Central African country.

It was quite the adventure, as we traveled around Cameroon in a mid sized tour bus complete with much needed water and refreshments, and with representatives from the Cameroonian Ministry as representatives from the Cameroonian Ministry of Tourism. We visited the Cameroonian capital Douala and the main economic city Yaounde and spent 5 days in the South Western Region in a town called Buea nestled at the foot of Mount Cameroon. We had a great time doing everything from visiting cultural sites and wildlife sanctuaries, to meeting with top Cameroonian business leaders and government representatives.

CMM curated and hosted ATA’s second media exchange during ATA’s 38th Annual World Congress. Themed ‘Leveraging International Media to Change Global Perceptions and Increase African Tourism’, the panel was moderated by Claudine. Selected reporters discussed strategies and best practices in working with the international press to increase African tourism, and build on the current interest in the continent.

It was an awesome trip, and has resulted in some great international media coverage for the country.
