‘The Future Is Female’ Mentorship Program Selects 20 Female Founders To Master The Fundamentals Of PR


There have been ups and downs in the funding environment for startups around the world and in Africa over the past few years, but one figure has remained stubbornly fixed in place. According to Africa: The Big Deal newsletter which has been tracking startup deals worth more than $100k on the continent since 2019, the percent of funding that goes to all female founding teams in Africa has stayed between 0.5% to 2.4%. Gender diverse founding teams fare a little better, raising a low of 8% of equity funding in the first half of this year and a high of 36% in the first half of 2019.

Much has been written on what needs to be done to close this funding gap, but especially at the early stages, building the right narrative is just as important as strong metrics for attracting the resources needed to get a fast-growing business off the ground. Allison+Partners snaps up C. Moore Media International PR

As part of the deal, which took place in July, CMM founder Claudine Moore was named managing director of Africa at Allison. She is reporting to Matthew Della Croce, global president and chief client experience officer.

Although Allison does not have a physical presence in Africa, CEO Scott Allison said such a move is “on the horizon.” Moore will work to expand Allison’s capabilities in African markets and oversee the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts for clients. Read More

International PR agency, Allison+Partners, acquires African-tech-focused PR agency, C. Moore Media

C. Moore Media International Public Relations, a PR firm with a strong focus on African tech startups, has been acquired by Allison+Partners, a global marketing and communications agency with operations in 34 markets worldwide. With this acquisition, Claudine Moore, the founder of C.Moore Media, joins Allison+Partners in a newly created role as the managing director for the African region. David Idagu will also join Allison+Partners as the firm’s Africa Regional Consultant.

The Future is Female Mentorship Program announces 25 finalists for its third edition

The third edition of The Future is Female Mentorship Program, the only PR and communications mentorship program dedicated exclusively to African female tech founders, has announced the 25 finalists for this year. In this edition, the program received 343 applications from 36 different African countries, translating to a 91% increase compared to the applications received in the 2021 edition. C. Moore Media launched the inaugural edition in 2020 on Africa Day.
